This one deserves a bit of explanation.

It's a 1934 Nimbus, which is a Danish make of motorcycle.
4 Cylinder, overhead cam (with exposed tappets and valve springs!)
It's the first motorcycle to use telescopic forks, in spite of what some BMW aficianados would have you believe; BMW didn't switch to telescopics until 1935.
This one is a commercial rig with a box sidecar attached.
The owner got the sidecar in Iceland, where these were very popular. The bike itself came from someone in Grants Pass, right here in Oregon.

Harley Servicar. These were still being made as late as the early 70's.
They were used by everyone from meter maids to delivery services.
I remember that the first company in San Francisco to use bicycle delivery, also had a fleet of these.
I used to envy the guys who got to ride them.
This one is done up in official Harley-Davidson livery, as used at the factory in Milwaukee for pickup and delivery.
The guy who restored it even has a diecast model of the same rig.

Everyone loves Vincents. This one is a Black Shadow.
You can tell the difference between the Shadow and the more common Rapide by the black paint on the engine. Rapides had the engine cases in bare aluminum.
The story I've heard about how Shadows and Rapides differ is that the Shadows were built by rejecting parts (in other words they only used parts that were perfect), while Rapides were built by selecting parts.
That's sort of an odd way of saying that both bikes engines were the same, but the Shadows were "blueprinted", which goes to show how important careful assembly is when building engines.
